- GARMONBOZIA presents GREENLEAF + HIGH DESERT QUEEN
With their ninth album “The Head & The Habit”, Sweden’s GREENLEAF have reached the pinnacle of a long evolution. The musical writing and mastery of guitarist Tommi Holappa, a pioneer and pillar of the European Stoner Rock scene for over 25 years, are clearly evident. Added to this is the soul, intuitive sense of melody and depth of character that singer Arvid Hällagård brings to the GREENLEAF sound.
First formed as an informal project by friends who were already playing in other bands such as DOZER, LOWRIDER, and DEMON CLEANER. With GREENLEAF, the Swedes simply wanted to find an outlet for their shared love of ’70s hard rock and proto-metal, while being free from the expectations and pressures of their main bands. Despite the intention to keep GREENLEAF purely for fun, the undiluted joy of creating catchy songs led everyone to demand that this material be recorded. So it was that a self-titled debut EP was released in 2000, quickly followed by a debut album and then eight more.
With “The Head & The Habit”, GREENLEAF combine an awareness of past triumphs with mature know-how, demonstrating their confidence in making rock louder, harder and more relevant than ever!
Since the release of their debut album “Secrets Of The Black Moon” on the Ripple Music label in October 2021, HIGH DESERT QUEEN have been turning more than just heads, they’ve been moving them.
Their album debuted at #3 on the Doom charts, and found its way into numerous top 10 albums of the year. Signed by heavy rock luminary Blasko (Ozzy Osborne, Zakk Wylde), these rockers from Austin, Texas, bring the heat of the Texas desert wherever they play.
These road warriors have toured with bands such as SASQUATCH, FATSO JETSON, MOTHER SHIP, and after three separate European tours and several U.S. tours, HDQ will be hitting the road again to present their second album “Palm Reader” released via Magnetic Eye Records in spring 2024.
Keep your ears to the road, you won’t want to miss your chance to see this band live…
